January 24, 2026 - Due to unsafe conditions at the park, headquarters will be closed until conditions improve. The park will remain open during this time, and visitors may use the self-pay station located next to the Headquarters building to enter the park.

Jan. 1, 2026 - Burn ban in effect until further notice. No wood or charcoal fires are allowed. You may cook with containerized fuel stoves.
October 19, 2025 - Due to low lake levels:
* The boat ramps at Lake Abilene are closed
* Kayaks and canoes are not available to rent
* No swimming or fishing allowed at Lake Abilene.

PARK HUNT DATES:
Dec. 9-11.
The entire park (including Lake Abilene) will be closed from 10pm on Dec. 8 until 12pm on Dec.11.
Dec. 6-7, Jan. 11-26 and Feb 6-8.
Access to Lake Abilene will be restricted from 10pm the night before until 10pm on the day the hunt ends.
