April 7, 2025 - FM 96 IS CLOSED DUE TO THE ROAD WASHING OUT. If you are coming in from Texarkana, we recommend 59 South until you get to FM 2791 in Queen City (next to CEFCO gas station) Turn Right on FM2791 (6.9 miles) then turn right on FM 96 (1.6 miles) turn left on FM 1154 (1.7miles) turn left into the park. DO NOT follow your GPS from Texarkana it will also send you down an old narrow road that is not in great shape as well and very hard to turn around if needed.

August 15, 2022 - This county is under a quarantine to prevent the spread of the emerald ash borer to other areas of the state. This means movement of firewood is restricted.
Please buy firewood where you burn it to prevent the spread of diseases and pests.

The swimming area is open however it is swim at your own risk. Due water levels being high, there is currently a drop off at the swimming area as well.

There is no gate; no gate code is necessary for entry. Customers arriving after hours must use the Iron Ranger located at the Park Headquarters. There will notification if the park is `Full' and an `Available Sites' listing on the door of park headquarters. Sites for campers without a reservation are first-come first-serve and are only guaranteed night of arrival. Maps of the park, fees, and instructions for self-pay envelopes are posted by the Iron Ranger. All overnight customers paying with credit card must register at the Park Headquarters by 9am the next morning.
