Bastrop State Park, TX

April 12, 2024 - Park Road 1C will be closed from the intersection of Park Road 1A to the intersection of Harmon Road during the dates / times below for natural resource management work:

4/15-4/19 – 8:00 am- 5:00 pm
4/29-5/3 – 8:00 am- 5:00 pm

Park Road 1A will be closed from the intersection of Park Road 1B to the intersection of Park Road 1C 4/22-4/26 – 7:00 am to 5:00 pm for revegetation work on the dam. This will also include the dam parking lot and the blue trail.

January 26, 2024 - A bridge construction project will be underway in the Copperas Creek camping area from March 1 through June 1.

MS150 Bike Ride Closures
The MS150 bike race will be coming through Bastrop and Buescher state parks on Saturday, April 27, 2024. Expect heavy bike traffic and possible detours. The following areas will be closed to day pass holders on this day:

• Bastrop: The Overlook, Lost Pines Loop trail and Post Oak Spur trail parking areas.
• Buescher: Park Road 1C from the Lakeview campground to park headquarters and the canoe barn lake access.

Some areas of the park remain closed due to prior flood and fire damage. The Purple Trail east of Harmon Rd. and the Orange Trail are also closed. Due to dam failure, the park's 10-acre lake is gone. Please obey all signs and barricades for closed areas.

There is no gate; no gate code is necessary for entry.

If arriving late for a camping reservation, campers can view the posted `Reservations` sheet on the kiosk outside of the Park Headquarters. To the right of their name will be the site assigned to them. Walk in campers can find an available campsite on the `Available Campsite` list. All the sites that are available in each area are listed as of the time the office closed.

All late arrivals must come up the park headquarters by 9am the next morning to check in and receive park issued entry permits.

If arriving late for Day Use, there is a kiosk located next to headquarters that serves as self-pay station. All instructions are on kiosk on how to fill out Self-Pay envelope, where to deposit money, and to place white copy on vehicle. Park closes to Day Use customers at 10pm.

FOR CABIN/LODGE/BARRACKS/BUNKHOUSE:

If arriving late, keys for your cabin are located outside the main door of the HQ building. The code for your cabin's lock box is the last 4 digits of the phone number of your reservation. Please fill out the rental agreement that is in a binder at the cabin and bring it to HQ at check in the following morning.

All late arrivals must return to the park headquarters by 9am the next morning to pay the balance on the reservation and entrance fees for length of stay.

If leaving cabin or group barracks before the headquarters opens, key drop box is on the departing side of the headquarters.
