From October to March, prescribed burning may take place at Bastrop and Buescher State Parks. During this time, there may be partial park and amenity closures, and smoke could linger for multiple days. The Lost Pines ecosystem is fire dependent and prescribed burning is used to promote health of the ecosystem. For more information within a week of your visit, reach out to park headquarters; Bastrop: 512-321-2101, Buescher: 512-237-2241
