MS150 Bike Ride Closures
The MS150 bike race will be coming through Bastrop and Buescher state parks on Saturday, April 27, 2024. Expect heavy bike traffic and possible detours. The following areas will be closed to day pass holders on this day:

  • Bastrop: The Overlook, Lost Pines Loop trail and Post Oak Spur trail parking areas.
  • Buescher: Park Road 1C from the Lakeview campground to park headquarters and the canoe barn lake access.


The Tawny Crazy Ant, an invasive species, has been identified in some campsites in Buescher State Park. These ants may crawl on your shoes, but they do not sting. Texas Parks and Wildlife Dept is working with experts to reduce the number of ants without harming the park's natural resources. Before leaving, thoroughly inspect your vehicle, RV, camping gear, and other equipment; If you see the ants, please notify park staff immediately and they can offer guidance for treating. If your plans change, please modify or cancel your reservation as soon as possible to allow someone else to enjoy the park.

DAY USE FEE:
$5 per day, per person 13 and older.

ACTIVITY FEE:
Activity Use fee of $5 per person day or overnight.

OFFICE AND GATE INFORMATION:
Office hours are from 8am to 4:30pm daily.

Gate is open at all times except for emergencies.

FISHING: Swimming is not allowed in the lake at this park. It is for fishing only.

Campers with reservations may pick a site. All walk-ins (campers without a reservation) must use the self-pay station and envelopes which cover payment of per person Entry Fee and Site Fee before picking an available site. All customers arriving after hours must register at the Park Headquarters by 9am the next morning.

FOR SCREENED SHELTER/CABIN:
If arriving after the office closed at 4:30pm, reservation and available site listings will be in the Kiosk outside of the Park Headquarters Building. Customers with Screened Shelter or Cabin reservations may pick up the keys on the back of the kiosk in an envelope with their names and facility assignment. All walk-ins (customers without a reservation) must use the self-pay station and envelopes which cover payment of per person Entry Fee and Site Fee before picking an available facility. All customers arriving after hours must register at the Park Headquarters by 9am the next morning.
