Fort Parker State Park, TX

August 11, 2025 - The Nature Center will undergo renovations beginning September 2nd. There will be an increased amount of noise and construction activity going on in the Day Use area, and the nearby shelters, cabins, and electric campsites.

September 23, 2024 - The Fishing Piers at both the Group Barracks and Campgrounds are closed until further notice for maintenance.

June 7, 2022 - The restrooms connected to the Group Recreation Hall are closed until further notice & there is a renovation project underway, but a completion date is yet unclear.

Arrivals after 4:30pm:

• DAY USE- please utilize the self-pay station to pay the entrance fee.
  
• ALL OVERNIGHT CAMPING- If arriving after 4:30pm, please call the park headquarters at (254)562-5751 before 4p.m. on the day of arrival. Be sure to have all license plates numbers and number of occupants handy. If you arrive at the park without a reservation, you must check online for an available site. Cabins, screened shelters, and group facilities are not available without a reservation. All late arrivals must check in at the front office between 8:30 and 9:30am the following morning.
  
  
  • * SCREENED SHELTERS (by reservation only):
    If arriving after 4:30pm, the key for the shelter you have been assigned will be hung adjacent to the headquarters door with your name on the key.
    
  • * PRIMITVE GROUP CAMP (by reservation only):
    If arriving after 4:30pm, continue to the campsite located adjacent to the Navasota River boat launching ramp. Any balance will be due at check-in the following morning. If you plan to apply any additional passes, the pass holder must be present.
    
  • * GROUP BARRACKS/BUNKHOUSES:
    If arriving after 4:30pm, the person whose name is on the reservation must contact the park office before 4:00 p.m. to obtain the keys.
