Prescribed burns are planned during this timeframe (June-April), depending on weather and other factors. Prescribed fire operations and associated smoke may impact your visit. Some camping areas, lodging facilities, trails, and day-use areas may be closed for public safety. Contact the park to learn how this may affect your stay.
If your plans change, please modify or cancel your reservation as soon as possible to allow someone else to enjoy the park.

$5 per day, per person 13 and older.
OFFICE AND GATE INFORMATION:
The gate is open at 7am and locks at 10pm.
Mosquitos can be a nuisance year-round. Please plan accordingly and pack your bug spray.
There are self-pay stations for customers to register at if they are arriving while the office is closed.
Day users can pay in the self-pay boxes located at the main office on beachside as well as the visitors center on the bay side; day users must exit the park by 10pm.
The park experiences periodic coastal flooding. The park will close for Tropical Storms and Hurricanes. Call the park directly for details and current beach conditions.

If arriving after hours for Day Use, customers must pay in the self-pay boxes located at the main office on beachside as well as the customer's center on the bay side.
If you arriving after the gate closes at 10pm to camp, you must call the park prior to 5pm for late arrival instructions. The gate code will be given to customers with a confirmed reservation. Each gate has two locks, a brass one and a red one. The red one is for emergency personnel only. A customer will enter the four digit code in the bottom of the brass lock. You must push down then pull up on the hasp for it to open & relock the gate behind you. Check the late arrival kiosk located in the parking lot of the beach side headquarters to find out their site assignments. Customers will use the large map at the kiosk to locate your site. All overnight customers arriving after-hours must register at the Park Headquarters by 9am the next morning. If you have not paid by 9am, you will lose your reservation(s).
Customers arriving after close and can't get through gate can reach an after hours ranger at 409-737-1222. Press 1 and then press star * Customer must leave name, phone number, campsite number and the after hours ranger with respond as soon as possible.
FOR LODGE:
Lodges are only available to overnight late arrivals if you have a reservation. If arriving after 5pm, you must call the park prior to 5pm on the date of arrival for gate and lodge key arrangements.
