PARK HUNT DATES:
Nov. 19-21, Dec. 3-5, Jan. 7-9, 14-16
The entire park will be closed from 10pm the day before the first day of the hunt and will reopen at 7am the day after the hunt ends.

Government Canyon State Natural Area implements trail closures when trails are wet & muddy. Contact the State Natural Area Headquarters, visit the Government Canyon State Natural Area Facebook Page, or check the Twitter feed on the Government Canyon State Natural Area webpage (bottom-right corner of the main page) for more info prior to arrival as trails may be closed due to inclement weather or poor trail conditions.
If your plans change, please modify or cancel your reservation as soon as possible to allow someone else to enjoy the park.
DAY USE FEE:
$6 per day, per person 13 and older.
Entrance fees are in addition to campsite or day use facility fees.
Group Adult Entry fee: $1 per day, per person 13 and older, available only with Group Facility rental.

Visitor Center hours are 8:30am to 4:30pm.
Government Canyon State Natural Area is open to the general public only Friday-Monday from 7am to 10pm & open additional days for day use and camping around major holidays. Check the Events Calendar on the Government Canyon State Natural Area website for specific dates.

Notes
If arriving after the gate closes at 10pm, customers with a reservation must contact the customer center at 210-688-9055, x0 during normal business hours (8am - 5pm) to receive the gate code for entry.
Site assignments for incoming reservations and a list of sites available for walk-in campers will be posted at the campground self-service entrance station where all campers (with or without a reservation) will register their annual pass or purchase entrance permits.
Customers without a reservation will not be issued a gate code. All customers arriving after hours must register at the State Natural Area Headquarters by 9am the next morning.
