July 16, 2026 - The park is closed for repairs after recent flooding.

July 14, 2026 - The park is within an infested zone for the new world screwworm. For the safety of animals and to prevent the spread of this dangerous pest:

• • Horses must be inspected before leaving the park. Please call Park Headquarters before visiting to ask about TAHC requirements and schedule an inspection.
• • If you bring pets, inspect them daily for cuts, wounds and signs of infestation.

If you see animals with unusual wounds or maggots, do not move them. Let someone know where you saw them:

• For pets/livestock: Contact park staff or the Animal Health Commission at (737) 900-7455.
• For wildlife: Contact park staff or call (512) 389-4505.

PARK HUNT DATES:
Nov. 9-11, 23-25, Dec. 7-9, 21-23, and Jan. 19-21
The entire park will be closed from 10pm the night before the first day of the hunt and will reopen at 6am on the day after last day of the hunt.

April 8, 2026 - The park will host special events on these dates. Expect busy trails and limited parking.

No horse washing allowed until further notice due to water conservation measures. Please be advised and plan accordingly.

There is no gate; no gate code is necessary for entry.

Customers are encouraged to call State Natural Area (SNA) Headquarters before 5pm on the day of their arrival. Customers arriving after hours must use the Self-Pay Station located at the State Natural Area Headquarters. Clipboards containing occupancy information for each campsite and overnight facility is posted at the Self-Pay Station. Campsites for customers without a reservation are first-come first-serve for unoccupied campsites and are only guaranteed for night of arrival. Maps of the State Natural Area, fees, and instructions for self-pay envelopes are posted at the Self-Pay Station. All overnight customers must register at State Natural Area Headquarters by 9am the next morning.

All after hours customers must call State Natural Area Headquarters before 4:00pm on the day of their arrival to arrange for key drop and further instructions.
