January 24, 2026 - Due to winter weather, Purtis Creek will be closing its office on Saturday, Jan 24. The park will remain open. Visitors can use the self-pay station for entry into the park. 

Prescribed burns are planned during this timeframe (November-April), depending on weather and other factors. Prescribed fire operations and associated smoke may impact your visit. Some camping areas, lodging facilities, trails, and day-use areas may be closed for public safety. Contact the park to learn how this may affect your stay.

If your plans change, please modify or cancel your reservation as soon as possible to allow someone else to enjoy the park.

DAY USE FEE:
$5 per day, per person 13 and older.

OFFICE AND GATE INFORMATION:
Gate is open from 6am to 10pm.

Office Hours:
Weekdays and weekends 8:15am to 4:30pm

Walk up window will be open until 15 minutes after office doors close.

SWIMMING:
Swimming allowed in designated area during daylight hours only (reservations are not required).

FISHING:
Fishing for largemouth bass over 16 inches is catch & release only. Catfish, crappie, bluegill and sand bass can be retained. Frozen bait and live worms available at park store.

Only 50 motorized boats are allowed on the lake at a time (first come, first served).

After park closing hours, non-camping park users may stay overnight on the lake by paying a $2 per night activity use fee per person in the office before closing or in the self-pay station before 10 pm. (Activity fee expires at 6am regardless of when time it was paid). The Activity use fee is for lake use only as the park observes quiet hours after 10 pm.

Notes

If arriving after the office closes, fill out a 'Self-Pay Envelope', located in the Iron Ranger, providing all information and place the white copy (receipt) on their windshields. Place the envelope portion into the Iron Ranger without depositing funds. Go to the camping area designated on your reservation and setup in any site that does not have a 'Tag' on the numbered post or someone's equipment in the site. All customers arriving after-hours must complete registration and payment at the Park Headquarters by 9am the next morning.
