Both campsite reservations and North Mountain permits can be reserved up to 3 months in advance
Permit reservations are limited to 3 consecutive days.
Campsite reservations are limited to three nights. Check with park headquarters staff for extending your stay if campsites are available.

DAY USE FEE:
$7 per day, per person 13 and older.

PETS:
Pets are not allowed on the mountains or most trails in the park except one. Day-use visitors' pets are only allowed on the Picnic Area Trail and a short portion of the roadway and parking areas between the campground gate and the North Mountain Gate. Campers' pets are allowed in the campground and along the campground roadway, as well as in the same areas as day-use visitor pets. Pets must be on a leash. Pick up after your pets, and do not leave them alone in a vehicle.

Texas State Park Pass is good for everyone in the vehicle, up to 15 people. No charge for reservations made by current annual pass holders. Pass must be shown on arrival. Reservation payments made by non-pass holders who later purchase a pass or who arrive in a vehicle with a pass holder will not be refunded.

North Mountain is open for unguided Day Use only. Youth Group Annual Permit holders can make up to 25 reservations in the North Mountain Area.

All visitors and campers must attend a brief mandatory orientation. Anyone under 18 must have a parental form signed by parents when checking in. Pets & bikes in picnic/camp areas only.

OFFICE AND GATE INFORMATION:
Gate open from: (October 1 - April 30) 8am to 6pm, (May 1 - September 30) 8am to 6pm (Monday - Thursday), (May 1 - September 30) 7am to 7pm (Friday - Sunday). Gates lock promptly.

The park encourages campers to arrive 1 hour before the park closes to go through the mandatory orientation process, 5PM MST (6PM on summer weekends). If something prevents you from arriving before then, please call the park directly at 915-857-1135 to speak with Front Desk staff about afterhours check in procedures. Park Headquarters closes at 5:30 PM MST (6:30PM summer weekends).

Day use reservations not claimed by 10am will be released. Fees paid on unclaimed reservations are not refundable.

This park only allows containerized fuels (gas grills, camp stoves). No wood or charcoal fires are permitted.
