Prescribed burns are planned during this timeframe (October-April), depending on weather and other factors. Prescribed fire operations and associated smoke may impact your visit. Some camping areas, lodging facilities, trails, and day-use areas may be closed for public safety. Contact the park to learn how this may affect your stay.
March 3, 2025 - Our ADA kayak launch is closed for repairs.
May 16, 2024 - This county is under a quarantine to prevent the spread of the emerald ash borer to other areas of the state. This means movement of firewood is restricted.
Please buy firewood where you burn it to prevent the spread of diseases and pests.
If your plans change, please modify or cancel your reservation as soon as possible to allow someone else to enjoy the park.
DAY USE FEE:
$4 per day, per person 13 and older.

Gate open 24 hours.
Office is open year round - 8:30 am – 4:30 pm daily.
Drinking water at Possum Kingdom is potable throughout the park.
The Possum Kingdom Park Store has souvenir items, t-shirts, ice cream, sno-cones, camping & fishing supplies, groceries, boat rentals, kayak rentals, paddle boat rentals & boat rental slips. Please call 940-521-9128 for more information.

December 1 - February 28: Friday-Sunday 9am-5pm. Closed the rest of the week.

No gate code is necessary for entry.
If arriving after hours, a reservation listing will be posted on the window and door at the Park Headquarters. There is no self-pay station. All customers arriving after-hours must register at the Park Headquarters by 9am the next morning.

No gate code is necessary for entry. Customers with reservations should contact the park at 940-549-1803 by 5pm on the day of arrival for late arrival instructions. If arriving late, check the reservation listing for cabin assignments. The key will be left in the door. All customers arriving after-hours must register at the Park Headquarters by 9am the next morning.
