June 30, 2025 - The U.S. 380 access, the River Paddling Trail, and all trails south of the Overlook on the Greenbelt are closed due to flood and storm damage. Check back for updates.
October 6, 2022 - This county is under a quarantine to prevent the spread of the emerald ash borer to other areas of the state. This means movement of firewood is restricted.
Please buy firewood where you burn it to prevent the spread of diseases and pests.
If your plans change, please modify or cancel your reservation as soon as possible to allow someone else to enjoy the park.

Gate is open from 6am to 10pm. If you will be a late arrival, you must call the park prior to 4:30pm on arrival date for late arrival instructions.

Lone Star Lodge and Marina is 2 miles west of Pilot Point,TX. on the east side of lake. It offers a full service restaurant, horse rentals, group facilities & more. The park does not have a marina or courtesy docks at this time. Contact the Lone Star Lodge and Marina @ 940-686-0261 for reservations. See https://www.lonestar-lodge.com for more info.
Gates are closed between 10pm and 6am.
Call the park at 940-637-2294 if you have an overnight camping reservation and are going to arrive after 4:30pm for late arrival instructions. The gate code is only given to customers with overnight camping reservations that the park can confirm and to campers who have already registered.
If arriving after office hours, an Available Sites List will be posted at the Headquarters self-pay station and on the inside of the Drive up Window. Camping fees are in addition to daily per person entry fees.
Customers with reservations should fill out the pay station envelope letting the park know they have a reservations, and drop the yellow copy even if you intend to pay with credit card at check in. Attach the white copy to your windshield.
Customers without reservations should fill out the pay station envelope completely with appropriate payment for one night, drop the yellow copy in the self-pay station, and attach the white copy to your windshield. Site renewal is subject to availability.
All customers arriving after-hours must register at the Park Headquarters by 9am the next morning.
