March 27, 2024 - In anticipation of increased overnight campers due to the eclipse, South Llano SP HQ is open until 7pm on April 7, 2024 for late arrivals.
A power outage is planned on Tuesday, April 16, 2024 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Prescribed burns are planned during this timeframe (November-March), depending on weather and other factors. Prescribed fire operations and associated smoke may impact your visit. Some camping areas, lodging facilities, trails, and day-use areas may be closed for public safety. Contact the park to learn how this may affect your stay.
The Park Gate will be closed to public access during hunt dates & flooding conditions.
The River Bottom area is open year round. The trails within the Turkey Roost Area are open between 10am and 3pm October - March for the Turkey Roost season & 6am to 10pm April - September.
If your plans change, please modify or cancel your reservation as soon as possible to allow someone else to enjoy the park.

South Llano River State Park does not close the gate off Hwy 377. If arriving after the office closes, please enter the park and proceed 1.5 miles to the park headquarters parking lot. A Self-Pay Station is located to the left of the information Kiosk. The park will indicate on the kiosk if all sites are full by reservation, list all fees (entrance plus campsites) and also supply maps.
**If not leaving before 8am **
Please proceed to the campground and check-in with volunteer park host in site #2 or #4 if STOP sign is out. If volunteer host is not available, Park office will open at 8am. All customers arriving after-hours must register at the Park Headquarters by 9am the next morning.
**If leaving before 8am **
Locate the self-pay envelope in the top of the self-pay station. Fill out completely, including telephone number and all information on 2nd page. Calculate the appropriate camping fee plus entrance fees per person and put correct cash or check inside self-pay envelope. Remove white copy of self-pay envelope and affix to drivers side windshield. Drop envelope through the slot of self-pay station and enjoy your visit.
