August 17, 2026 - South Llano River State Park headquarters will be closed to conduct the annual store inventory on Wednesday, 8/19/26, and reopen Thursday, 8/20/26. Visitors can reserve online in advance or use the self-pay kiosk for check ins. Concession sales, including ice, will not be available during the closure.
August 12, 2026 - Burn ban in effect until further notice. No ash producing fires allowed such as wood and charcoal. Containerized fuels such as propane will be allowed for cooking.
August 4, 2026 - The bridge on Park Road 73 is undergoing repairs - drive slowly in the bridge area and observe signs for your safety.
July 23, 2026 - The fishing pier at Buck Lake is closed.
July 23, 2026 - River Conditions:
o The shoreline directly under the bridge is closed.
o Due to flooding, the South Llano River course has changed and may contain debris and hazards. Please exercise caution during all river recreation.
July 23, 2026 - The following trails are closed:
* The .16 mile trail connecting the River Trail and the Buck Lake Trail
* The Eastern 0.37-mile trail segment of the River Trail.
PARK HUNT DATES:
Oct. 20-22, Nov. 3-5, 23-25, Dec. 1-4, 15-17, 28-30, Jan. 26-29
The entire park will be closed from 5pm the night before the first day of the hunt and will reopen at 2pm on the last day of the hunt.
The Park Gate will be closed to public access during hunt dates & flooding conditions.
The River Bottom area is open year round. The trails within the Turkey Roost Area are open between 10am and 3pm October - March for the Turkey Roost season & 6am to 10pm April - September.
