Choke Canyon State Park, TX

April 4, 2024 - The Boat Ramp restrooms are closed for lift station repairs. Restrooms are available at headquarters and day-use area.

October 4, 2023 - The South Shore unit boat ramp will be closed until further notice due to low lake levels. The Calliham, FM-99, and Mason Point ramps are all currently operational.

Prescribed burns are planned during the timeframe of November-April, depending on weather and other factors. Prescribed fire operations and associated smoke may impact your visit. Some camping areas, lodging facilities, trails, and day-use areas may be closed for public safety. Contact the park to learn how this may affect your stay.

Gates are locked at Calliham Unit and South Shore Unit (Day Use only) between 10pm & 6am

If arriving after office hours for Day Use, use the self-pay station located outside park headquarters.

If arriving after office hours for overnight fishing, pay Day Use fees and pay an additional overnight activity fee of $2 per person using the self-pay station. Unless you pay in the park office before closing time, the park is unable to give the gate combination.

If you have a reservation, call the park office before 5pm if they will be arriving after 10 pm in order to get the gate combination. A late arrival site assignment/available campsite list is placed on the sliding glass door at park headquarters nightly for overnight campers. Customers that will be leaving before the park office opens at 8 a.m., they may pay for their site and day use fees by utilizing the self-pay station located outside of the park headquarters. A fee schedule is posted on the sliding glass door at headquarters.

Cabin will be left unlocked before close of business.
