Lake Whitney State Park, TX

August 4, 2026 - The park is under a burn ban. No ash-producing fires (wood or charcoal) are allowed. You may use charcoal and containerized fuel stoves for cooking.

PARK HUNT DATES:
Dec. 7-9, 9-11, Jan. 16-17, 20-22
The entire park will be closed from 5pm December 6 and will reopen at 3pm December 11, and from 5pm January 15 to 3pm January 22.

July 10, 2024 - This county is under a quarantine to prevent the spread of the emerald ash borer to other areas of the state. This means movement of firewood is restricted.

Please buy firewood where you burn it to prevent the spread of diseases and pests.

If arriving after the office closes at 5pm, the reservation listing will be in the kiosk in the median across from the Park Headquarters, and on either entrance door to the Headquarters Building. Campers with reservations may select an appropriate site based on the list. All walk-ins (campers without a reservation) and campers with a reservation must use the self-pay station. Instructions for self-pay are on the lid. Fill out the envelope properly and make the applicable payment before proceeding to an available site. All customers arriving after hours must register at the Park Headquarters by 9am the next morning.

Combination will not be given to late arrivals. The gate code is only given to customers who hold a valid camping permit. It is never given over the phone and will not be given to holders of a self-pay station receipt. A small parking area in front of the office will be available for late arrivals. afterhours park related issues requiring immediate attention and emergency purposes an afterhours emergency number is posted on a sign located on the entrance gates.

FOR GROUP CAMP/GROUP HALL:
Customers arriving after hours for Day Use must utilize the yellow self-pay station located near the kiosk. Instructions for self-pay are on the lid of the Self-Pay Station. Fill out the envelope properly and make the appropriate payment before proceeding to an available site. All customers arriving after hours must register at the Park Headquarters by 9am the next morning.
