February 10, 2026 - Burn ban in effect until further notice. No wood or charcoal fires are allowed. You can use containerized fuel stoves (i.e. propane), for cooking.

When the park reaches maximum capacity it will close to day-use visitors without a reservation. Closures are common on weekends and holidays so reservations are highly recommended. If you are planning to visit for the day, please arrive early and have a back-up plan in case of a closure. Customers with camping reservations will be able to enter during these closures.

Access to trails across Onion Creek may be affected by creek conditions due to rainfall. Please contact the park for trail access information.

OVERNIGHT CAMPING LATE ARRIVALS:
For campers arriving after 4:15pm you must call the park at 512-243-1643 before 4:15pm to receive the entrance gate code. The gate code is only given out to registered customers and customers calling the day of their confirmed reservation. Complete instructions for customers arriving late are located at the Late Arrival Station at the park headquarters. Late arrivals must contact the park on the first day of the reservation or the following morning no later than noon. Any reservation holders who have not contacted the park by this deadline will forfeit the rest of their reservation. .

Walk-up reservations may be available but must be confirmed with park staff by 4:15pm. There are usually no campsites available without reservations on most weekends and around major holidays. If the 'Campsites Full – NO VACANCY' sign is posted then no campsites are available without a confirmed reservation..

FOR CABIN:.
If you are a late arrival with a confirmed reservation for a cabin, you must call the park at 512-243-1643 before 4:15pm to receive your cabin door code. The gate code is only given out to registered customers and customers calling the day of their confirmed reservation. If for any reason you were unable to receive your cabin door code, please find a park host (in sites: 22, 37, 38, 70 & 83) for further instructions. .
