When the park reaches maximum capacity, it will close to day-use visitors. Closures are common on holidays and on weekends (from Memorial Day through Labor Day). If you are planning to visit for the day, please arrive early and have a back-up plan in case of a closure. Customers with camping reservations will be able to enter during these closures.
Contact the park or visit our Facebook page, prior to arrival, as trails may be closed due to poor conditions or weather.
Save the Day Passes
Many parks fill to capacity on weekends and holidays. Pre-purchase a day pass and guarantee your entry and parking. Day passes are:- Valid until 4:30 p.m., unless the park closes earlier.
- Available up to 1 month in advance.
- Not transferrable to another person or park.
- Also sold at the park, if available.
Driving Directions
From San Antonio:Take Hwy 281 north 20 miles to Hwy 46. Then west 7 miles to Park Rd 31. Right on Park Rd 31, 3 miles to the Park.
From Austin:
IH 35 south to New Braunfels. Exit on Hwy 46 West toward Boerne. This is also Loop 337. Go 5 miles, turn right on Hwy 46 West ramp; go 27 miles. Turn right on Park Road 31, go 3 miles to the Park.
Directions to the Bauer Unit:
Turn right onto Hwy. 46 from Park Road 31. Go 3 miles and turn right on FM 3351. Go about 3.5 miles and turn right on Edge Falls Road. Continue for 2.4 miles and turn right on Acker Road. Go 2.2 miles to entrance.
